Baby dumping cases is increasing a year
to year and this is a crucial issues and concern society as this issues should
be tackle down.
The Malaysian statistics on baby dumping
are concerning a lot of people. An Average of 100 babies are dumped every year,
with more than half found dead.
It was only for the cases that were
reported and there are might unwanted babies that were buried nowhere and not
found by people.
Teen pregnancies are one of the main
contributing factors leading to babies dumped.
Muhammad Zulfadhli Ikram Karim, 24,
student, said “premarital sex among teens leads to baby dumping as usually
teenagers lack of knowledge in sex education.”
Siti Aisyah Mohd Fadullah, 24,
consultant, said “baby dumping happened due to people lack knowledge in Islam.
Once they know and understand the law of Islam towards people who commits zina
they will never do that unethical things.”
Nor Anizan Mat Hapani, 24, student, said
“less of religion knowledge and moral values in the individual, and teenagers
not matured and perhaps scared when the baby were delivered was the factor why
baby dumping happened. Also maybe, some parents cannot accept their children
when they know about the pregnancy and as their daughter tarnish their images
so they did not want to accept their daughter.”
Baby dumping cases should be curb with a
few solution that involve the participation of minister and citizen.
“Parent plays a crucial role as parent
should monitor their children’s activity, teenagers who pregnant out of wedlock
need to give moral support and people who caught because they throw their baby
and cause to death needs to be punish with heavy punishment.” said Muhammad
Zulfadhli Ikram Karim.
“If
people know the fundamental of Islam, people will not do this thing as baby
dumping that lead to death is a murderer and yet people should get closer to
Allah.” said Siti Aisyah Mohd Fadullah.
“Perhaps
media can play their role to promote baby hatch which if people that pregnant
out of wedlock and do not want their baby, they can put their baby there.” said
Nor Anizan Mat Hapani.
